S/V Northern Light
S/V Northern Light is a 38’ sloop-rigged pilothouse sailboat designed by Robert Perry and built in 1980 by Mantra Marine to be a fast, comfortable all weather cruising boat. She was built in Seattle by a small company of experienced marine professionals to a very high standard. Her hull is hand laid fiberglass with an Airex Foam core. This is not a motorsailor, she is truly a great sailing boat with a pilothouse. The distinction was obvious the first time I took her sailing. With a Neil Pryde full batten main she doesn't need a gale to get going. When I come aboard Northern Light I immediately realized that this boat is made for cruising comfortably. With her full complement of controls at the inside helm, plus the ability to sail traditionally from the cockpit, this boat is really comfortable and is a great passagemaker.
